This is the 44th feature film in the nationally popular anime series "Doraemon," and a commemorative work for the 45th anniversary of the "Doraemon Movie" series. Doraemon and Nobita, who have jumped into the world of a painting, embark on a time-traveling adventure in search of a legendary jewel.

While Nobita is working on his summer homework—a painting—he sees news about the discovery of a painting worth billions of yen. Suddenly, a piece of a painting falls in front of him. Using the secret gadget "Entering Light," they enter the painting and explore, where they meet a mysterious girl named Claire. At her request, Doraemon and Nobita head to the "Principality of Artoria," which turns out to be the world of medieval Europe depicted in the painting that was the subject of the news. It is said that a legendary jewel called "Artoria Blue" is hidden somewhere in that world. Doraemon and Nobita set out to find the legendary jewel, but soon the legend of the world's destruction, passed down in the Principality of Artoria, is revived, putting them in great danger.

The director is Yukiyo Teramoto, who also directed "Doraemon: Nobita's New Great Adventure into the Underworld." The script is by Koji Ito, who has written many scripts for the "Doraemon" TV anime series and is making his first contribution to a movie version. Actors Oji Suzuka and Miki Fujimoto, and the comedy duo "Sandwichman" appear as guest voice actors. The theme song is by Aimyon.
